SUMMARY:Leave No Trace Hike with Kingsburg Coastal Conservancy
DESCRIPTION:Meet at Riverport Community Centre Parking Lot at 9:00am\, carpool to Feltzen South for the hike.\nPlease wear appropriate outdoor clothing including footwear appropriate for hiking. \n\nJoin with KCC members and Jody Conrad\, a founding member of Leave No Trace Canada and the first Leave No\nTrace Master Educator in Canada\, as we learn and discuss the seven principles of Leave No Trace while enjoying\na local trail. \n\n“As more and more of us seek out natural areas for recreation and solitude\, each of us adopting a corresponding\npersonal wilderness ethic becomes more and more important in order to protect the areas that we all love. The\nseven principles of Leave No Trace provide a framework of practices and techniques that encourage minimal\nimpact on nature for anyone venturing into the outdoors. Each of the principles\, which are widely recognized in\nCanada and internationally\, covers a specific topic and offers detailed information on how to minimize both our\necological and social impacts in the outdoors. Originally developed for the back country\, the seven Leave No Trace\nprinciples can be applied to remote wilderness areas\, local parks\, and urban backyards. In fact\, they are suited for\nalmost any outdoor recreational activity.” \n\nThere is limited space for this event\, so please register by email below to reserve your place: contact@kccns.org
