Winter Waterbird Walk – Join Birds Canada and Nature NS for a 2-hour walk exploring the wonderful world of wintering waterbirds. Beginner and novice birders and families welcome! This walk will include bird identification tips (including seabirds and ducks), how to survey waterbirds, and information about community-led efforts to protect Dartmouth Cove from in-filling. We will start with freshwater ducks at Sullivan’s Pond and then walk to Dartmouth Cove where we’ll look for coastal waterbirds, such as Long-tailed Duck and Black Guillemot.
Event details: Round trip, this 3 km walk will be on paved walking trails, sidewalks, and cross-walks; no public washrooms nearby or onsite; please dress for the weather and bring binoculars (limited number available to borrow).

To join the walk, please register here: https://forms.gle/gKe2sNiPuUKNyj95A. For additional info, contact Sue Abbott ([email protected]) or Jess Lewis ([email protected]).
